My name is Josephine Ritchie, and I am the author of the Kelly Jo Froggit book series. I was born and raised in New Albany, Indiana. I saw a little of this great country while with my first husband but we soon moved back home. I still live in Indiana but moved to the country over 20 years ago. This is where I raised my kids and where I wanted to spend the rest of my days. But as with all plans this one fell by the way side. I have been married twice; have many grandchildren, and too many siblings to list. At this moment, due to many heath issues) I'm living in New Albany with my mother and my dog; who is the uncontested ruler of the house.
My writing career started one night as I sat on the floor of a small dark room and watched over my son as he slept; at the time he was only eight. He is my youngest and he is epileptic and has cognitive difficulties. I've spent many sleepless nights watching over him, but I admit that some of those nights were just due to a mothers fear; he stops breathing during his seizures. I never did anything with the books at that time but it kept me awake while the rest of the house slept.
I have always had a vivid imagination and this was a great way to let it run free, but it didn't take me long to discover that I truly loved to write. My first attempt at writing was under the name B.J. Tindle. It was a two book paranormal romance set. I quickly found that it wasn't my cup of tea and moved on to other forms of fiction, and thus Josephine Ritchie was born.
Now that my son is now over 18 and moved out. And i am going thru what all parents; especially mothers, go thru, empty nesting. And as i am sure most of you already know. I have been away from writing for a while. This is due to the fact that I have an issue with grief and depression. And it hasn't helped to discover that I am undesirable as an employee; for reasons I won't list here. So I started to sell my books as a way of getting a little extra money for those little extras in life that you hate to do without. You know: food, electricity, etc...
However I found that you could not make money as an author unless people know about your books. So I built a Facebook page and this website and here we are. Me selling my books, and you looking for a good read. Hopefully we can help each other. My books are not on the best sellers list but my family and my 10s of fans claims that they are a pretty good. I deal with a lot of stress on a daily basis and try to keep the stories from being to "real”, and are meant to be a good way to spend a lazy day.
Anyway that’s the short version. If you want more information please see the button below.

The Life and times of Josephine Ritchie
I would once again like to point out that I am not a trained writer. I have never claimed to be and will never claim to be. I am simply a woman going through a hard time and trying to keep her head above water by doing anything she can. You are going to find grammar mistakes in my books. But it does not mean that I have not put many days and nights of hard work into them.
But if you do not look to closely at my grammar skills, I can promise you that you will find the reading of these stories enjoyable. The books are getting decent reviews from the readers and the mistakes do not take away from the storyline or the characters.
Thank You
Josephine
